Italian Society of Sports and Exercise Medicine

Welcome

The Italian Society of Sports and Exercise Medicine (SIMSE) was founded as a scientific society in 2006, to cover the associative void in the strategic sector for the health of the citizen, such as physical activity not only applied to primary prevention, but mainly, to secondary prevention and, as a therapy, to tertiary prevention.

With this purpose it intends to support the specific professional activity so far attributed to Sports Physicians, ie the sports fitness, historically and deservedly regulated by the Italian Sports Medicine Federation.

It also intends to convey scientific experiences, training and healthcare to Sports Physicians, so far dispersed among various other specializations and consequently no homogeneous and unambiguous representation along the lines of the new regulations of the School of Specialization in Sports Medicine.

Another important purpose of the SIMSE is to engage also the new professionals and scientists who for different reasons have to do with sports, exercise and movement, as graduates in Sports Science and other professional roles related to the study of morphology, kinesiology, rehabilitation, biomechanic, physical activity and nutrition.

The objectives of the SIMSE Society are expressly mentioned in detail in Art. 3 of SIMSE Articles of Association.
